General Email Settings

This guide outlines the standard settings required to configure your email account in most email applications. As email programs vary, some screens and wording may differ, but the settings below will work for most configurations.

Account Information

Username: Your full email address (you may be asked to enter this in more than one place).

Password: The password associated with your email account (you may also be asked to enter this more than once).

Display Name: The name that recipients will see when you send emails. This is usually your personal or business name.

Email Account Type

Account Type: IMAP

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

  • Server (Hostname): mail.yourdomain.com.au

  • Port: 993

  • Encryption (SSL/TLS): Enabled

  • Authentication: Normal Password

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

  • Server (Hostname): mail.yourdomain.com.au

  • Port: 465

  • Encryption (SSL/TLS): Enabled

  • Authentication: Normal Password

Note: Your outgoing (SMTP) server should be configured to use the same username and password as your incoming mail server. Most email applications have an option such as "My outgoing server requires authentication", which should be enabled.
