Free Remote Working Tools From These 5 Companies

Many employers are being asked to stay home with many companies looking for ways to reduce the spread of the COVID-19\. Twitter has asked it’s employee workforce of 5000 people to work from home, for example.

These five tech companies are making the transition to remote work easier with free tools to help businesses out during these difficult times.

LogMeIn

Emergency Remote Work Kits” are being made by LogMeIn for free for three months. The kits include GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, and LogMeIn. LogMeIn provides remote desktop access from numerous devices. GoToMeeting is a telemeeting software. And GoToWebinar helps users host presentations for up to 3000 users. These kits are designed for health care organizations, schools, and nonprofits who are new to their platform. The company also plans to work with existing customers with small businesses to provide access for that same period.

Google

Free access to Google’s enterprise version of Hangouts Meet, G Suite, and G Suite for Education users. The plane includes the ability to record meetings, live stream to 100,000 viewers, and includes up to 250 users per day.

Microsoft

A free trial of the premium plan for the Teams chat app is being offered by Microsoft. The trial lets users record meetings and use 1TB of storage which aren’t available on the free version. The trial is available for 6 months.

Cisco Webex

The Webex service from Cisco is now being offered for free, without any time restrictions. It’s allowing up to 100 meeting participants and added toll-free dialing for any new 90-day licenses for businesses.

Zoom

Zoom already has a free version of its videoconferencing software, but it’s now working to extend that. With many school and university systems moving classrooms to zoom, Zoom’s CEO has stated that the company is making an effort to “ensure maximum reliability amid any capacity increases, as uptime is paramount”
